Members of the Avengers assembled at Disney on April 5, and while many people may believe it was all part of their press tour for their upcoming film, “Avengers: Endgame,” the reality is that this was all about charity. According to “Fox News,” stars including Chris Hemsworth, Paul, Rudd, Brie Larson, and Robert Downey Jr., made a Disney appearance in order to announce a joint donation of $5 million made to help sick children.
The Avengers stars united in Anaheim, California in order to not only reveal the donation, but also to hand out toys to children. As part of the donation, children across the country who are sick and in the hospital will receive merchandise and toys from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Part of the donation came directly from Disney, which contributed $1 million directly to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
While the big event was the announcement of the donation, some of the stars went down to Disney’s LEGO store in order to spend time with children from the Boys & Girls Club. This included Paul Rudd and Chris Hemsworth, who can be seen in pictures and videos interacting with the kids they met at the store. On Twitter and Instagram, pictures were posted by different members of the Avengers, as well as their fans.
Robert Downey Jr., who is credited as being the founding member of the MCU and one of the first Avengers shared that now is, “a time to give back to these courageous kids who inspire us.” Considering this is not the first time the heroes of the MCU have given back to children, this donation does not come as a big surprise. Instead, the Avengers continue to showcase that they can just as easily be heroes off screen as they are on screen.
