Bevers
On the third anniversary of the death of Terri “Missy” Bevers, a fitness instructor murdered at a Midlothian church, the case remains cold, and police have no answers.

Police have kept the investigation open and have over 2,000 tips regarding the death of Bevers, but a suspect has not been taken into custody, and there have been no arrests.

Bevers was murdered on April 16, 2016, a little after 5 a.m MT, as she was preparing to lead a fitness boot camp class at Midlothian’s Creekside Church of Christ.

A suspect is seen on video walking into the church right before the murder occurred. He was wearing police gear and used a screwdriver to open the church doors. Police found on the floor broken glass and observed other signs of forced entry.

The person on the video wore a vest with “Police” on the back and front, helmet, gloves, pants, and shinguards.

The surveillance camera videos did not capture the murder. External surveillance cameras were broken.

Midlothian Police Captain John D. Spann said in a press release that the majority of tips they received described how the suspect walk. However, if the suspect had an injury, he may not continue to have these traits.

The suspect is said to be 5-foot-8 which could change in either direction by 1.53 inches.

Bevers a mother of three children and lived in Red Oak, Texas.

When Bevers body was discovered in the church, she was unresponsive with multiple puncture wounds to her chest and head.

Police do not know if someone she knew or a stranger murdered Bevers. Her husband Brandon, who has been cleared as not being a suspect, said his wife did not know her the person who murdered her.

The police sent DNA found at the scene to a crime lab, but it yielded no results. Unfortunately, they did not have enough of a sample to perform the test.

Spann said that Beaver’s murder would most likely be solved with the public’s help. He believes somebody who has information has not come forward yet.

It is urged that anybody with information can anonymously call Crime Stoppers of Ellis County at 972-937-PAYS. The police department can be reached at 972-775-3333.
