Pastor Eugene Keahey, a prominent pastor in Dallas, Texas shot himself in the head and his wife and daughters were in a house which was on fire.
The Dallas police said the incident was murder-suicide fuelled by domestic violence.
Keahey’s daughters 15-year-old Camry and 17-year-old Darryn died from smoke inhalation and burns on February 28, 2019.
Keahey died from a single gunshot to his head. The medical examiner said the death was a suicide.
The medical examiner said that the pastor’s daughter’s deaths were from homicide. The pastor’s wife 51-year-old DeAnna’s cause of death is still pending.
Police are still investigating to determine the cause of the fire, but believe it was set intentionally.
Three weeks before Keahey committed suicide, he changed the cover photo on his Facebook page to a banner that said: “Everybody has secrets.”
Thirty minutes before it was reported that a fire was taking place on Feb. 28, he posted on his Facebook a cryptic message that did not make sense referring to a difficult time he was having in his life. He ended his statement with “Good Night Everybody.”
