Tanisha Asghedom, the baby mama of Nipsey Hussle’s daughter Emani Asghedom age, appeared in court on May 14, 2019, for a custody hearing.
Hussle’s sister, Samantha Smith, is fighting her for custody of the child after the rapper was killed on March 31.
Asghedom told The Blast that she loved her daughter and would do whatever she had to in order to have her returned to her.
According to TMZ, Asghedom had not seen her daughter for several months because she was living with her father before he was killed. Hussle was living with Lauren London at the time.
The judge cleared the courtroom for 20 minutes so Asghedom could spend time with Emani. A guardianship ruling was also postponed by the judge which was filed in April by Smith. The ruling for guardianship could come as early as May 17.
Smith filed the guardianship petition because Hussle’s family did not feel Asghedom would provide an environment which was stable for Emani.
The petition also said that Smith was a constant presence in the girl’s life, and she was petitioning the court for guardianship to be able to ensure that the girl can continue to be with the family members she has close ties with.
Hussle’s estate may be tied up in a legal battle. Blacc Sam, Hussle’s brother filed to be in control of the estate which is worth millions.
Emani would be entitled to money from the estate. Asghedom would file for financial assets and child support if she is granted custody.
Blacc Sam also filed documentation in support of Smith being granted guardianship. Asghedom’s attorney has stated that she wants what is best for Emani.
Asghedom posted on her Instagram a photo. Under it, she wrote that she loves her children and will always rise to any occasion for them.
