As part of an effort to expand their nonstop offerings to the people of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, American Airlines is now planning to offer direct flights from the DFW airport to New Zealand. These 15 hour nonstop flights would not begin until late 2020, but they would finally connect the people of Dallas and Fort Worth to Oceania in a way they have not been before.
According to The Dallas Morning News, starting on Oct. 25, 2020, American Airlines will be flying nonstop to New Zealand three days per week until Dec. 1. Once December begins, the airline will then be flying out daily.
Perhaps the only downside to this trip is the fact that travelers technically arrive two days after departing Texas thanks to the time zones being crossed. Leaving the airport at 10:30 PM will get a person to New Zealand two days later at 7:30 PM.
Overall, it is clear that American Airlines understands what travelers are looking for. Not only do many people prefer nonstop flights, but New Zealand is a rather popular destination. Whether one is traveling their for its beauty or the fact that it is a popular place for filming (The Lord of the Rings was filmed in New Zealand after all), American Airlines can and now will get a person there without having to make another stop.
