Eminem listened to Kendrick Lamar’s new album, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,” and gave a shout-out to the massive effort made by Lamar.

In a Twitter post, Eminem said that the new album is ridiculous and that he is speechless. He tagged Dr. Dre in the social media post because he was a mentor to both rappers.

The comments from Eminem came not long after he performed alongside Lamar at the LVI Super Bowl halftime show this past February. They performed with Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre.

Lamar has spoken about the influence Eminem has had on him as an artist. It can be listened to in some of his more aggressive performances like the third verse of “Backstreet Freestyle” on his “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City” album.

In an interview with GQ in 2016, Lamar explained how the approach from Eminem’s language helped him. The rapper said in the publication that he got clarity from watching Eminem when he was a child. It was also mentioned that he got into the studio with curiosity as well as his passion for music.

He also said the first time he hear the LP from Eminem he was curious about how it worked and what it was Eminem was doing. Lamar was also wondering what an ad-lib was. His curiosity turned into wondering how Eminem’s words would go through the beat like they did and was trying to figure out what the rapper was doing that he was not. He then said that Eminem’s timing was “impeccable” and he expressed that he needed to learn how to do it.

Lamar’s new album was released on May 13, without any tracks prior besides “The Heart Part 5.” The new record is a follow-up to his album “DAMN” from 2017 and it consists of 18 songs. It is considered a double album and features Sampha, actress Taylour Paige, Ghostface Killah, Portishead’s Beth Gibbons, and Baby Keem.

Album World Tour

The double album received a five-star review from NME.

Lamar will be taking his new double album on tour around the world this year. It will start off in America in July and will run until September before it will head to the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe in October through November. The tour will end in December after a run through New Zealand and Australia.

The rapper will see many flowers in the next few weeks as his double album is ready to top the Billboard 200 with a predicted 325,000 to 350,000 similar album units landing in the U.S. for the first week. The number will represent the largest opening week of 2022 thus far. It is estimated that the record will make 400 million streams in the U.S. in the first week.
