Tulips Contain Beauty and Simplicity

Tulips are a wonderful, and mesmerizing plant to look at. They add a large quantity of beauty to your garden. Aside from being a beautiful plant, they are quite easy to manage, along with growing in a pretty short amount of time. Overall, Tulips can bring benefits to your garden, and will be worth it after the amount of work it takes to begin the planting process.

Plant Tulips in the Fall, and in Groups For Best Growth

It is best to begin planting tulips for the fall, that way they have enough time to fully grow. This is also great if you want them to bloom in the spring. According to The Free Press, the top of the bulb should be six inches deep within the soil, in total around an 8-inch hole in total. If the hole is not as deep as it should be, then there is a chance that it may not grow to its best or its fullest ability. If the hole is too deep, then it may not grow at all. This part can be very tedious at times since your aim is to have the hole 8 inches deep. There is also some big importance in restricting the amount of air that the tulips receive after being planted. You want to make sure to have them covered as much as possible.

If you only plant one tulip, your garden may not look as appealing as you would want it to. According to the Free Press, it is better to plant the tulips in big groups, around 10, that way it is more visually appealing to others and yourself (The Free Press). If you plant more than one color at the same time, this may get a little overwhelming. The Free Press states it is best to stay with one color or plant one group at a certain time, and another group at another time. This prevents the sensation of being overwhelmed by a great amount of color. This also creates that “pleasing to the eye” effect.

Prevent Pests with One Simple Addition

Certain pests and animals can be harmful to your lettuce plant. This is no problem, as The Free Press puts it, you can put the chicken wire to prevent certain animals, such as squirrels, from digging in and destroying your tulips. If this is done, you will certainly be worry-free when it comes to these issues.

Re-growing Tulips is Simple, and Fruitful!

Further, when it comes to planting them after they are done blooming, they will eventually begin to diminish, this means that you have to cut the flower head before it completely diminishes.

Finally, there is one more important step to planting tulips. Who does not want them to regrow for the next year? According to the Free Press, you must let the foliage die naturally, if you tamper with it, this may prevent tulips from growing and instead will disappear. This means not cutting them while they are naturally dying back. If you end up cutting them at this time, then they will not grow again for next year’s harvest.

Overall, Tulips are very fun and are pretty simple to plant, although at times there is a huge importance on focusing on even the smallest of things, as that could greatly affect the way the tulips come out when it is time to harvest them. Follow this simple guide to planting them, and many people will want to plant them as well!
