Greg Abbott, Fascism, and the End of the Lone Star State

I was eight years old. Every boy and most girls my age were anxious for Sunday night when “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color” was broadcast. One of the show’s most popular broadcasts was “Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier.” Its star was Fess Parker, and his sidekick was Buddy Ebsen. Just prior to my 9th birthday, in 1955 they made a movie of the series. Every boy my age and most girls loved Sunday nights for the much-anticipated broadcast. I have no doubt that my friends in California held great esteem for the state of Texas in the 1950s. The series was a mixture of fairy tales and facts, including the “last stand at the Alamo.” However, it did make us believe in heroes and the courageous men who fought for the state of Texas. Greg Abbott, the Lone Star’s governor in 2023, is no Davy Crockett.

Abbott’s Anti-American Agenda is Destroying Texas

Abbott is not an American. Like his Fuhrer, Donald Trump, he is a fascist who is opposed to the Constitution, also known as the “Law of the Land.” I, and most informed Americans, am fully aware that Texas is one of the worst states in America. Its Republican-dominated state legislature is opposed to the ideals of our Founding Fathers and would like to see our nation return to the period of time before the Civil War when Texas was controlled by the all-white community.

Ted Cruz Admits that Texas is no Longer Part of America

In 2021, the junior senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, suggested that it would be prudent for Texas to secede from the Union.

Texas is one of several red states vying for its reputation as the most fascist and anti-democratic state in the nation. I offer you Abbott’s latest display of hatred for the Constitution and support for a fascist rule dominated by his belief in white supremacy.

Irrefutable Proof That Abbott is a Neo-Nazi

The story is about one man who has murdered Black Americans simply because their skin color is not pure white. His name is Daniel Perry.

This Texan was convicted of murdering a man involved in a Black Lives Matter protest in 2020. He offered the following as a defense.

Perry’s act of murder appeared to be brazenly premeditated. In social media posts, Perry sneered that he might “kill a few people on my way to work. They are rioting outside my apartment complex” and that he “might go to Dallas to shoot looters.” He argued with a friend over whether that would be legal. That friend warned him that “we went through the same training.” Furthermore, the friend added, “Shooting after creating an event where you have to shoot” is “not a good shoot.”

Two weeks later, Perry ran a red light, accelerated his vehicle, and attempted to run over members of a BLM protest. Some of the protestors surrounded the car. Perry lowered his window and focused on a 28-year-old Air Force veteran, Garrett Foster, who was legally carrying an AR-15 rifle. He shot and killed the young man, claiming that he had pointed his weapon at him with the intent to kill. A jury did not believe Perry’s allegation, claiming that he intentionally murdered Mr. Foster.

Within 24 hours, Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott took to social media himself to vow that he would pardon Daniel Perry as “swiftly” as he is able to. “Texas has one of the strongest ‘Stand Your Ground’ laws of self-defense that cannot be nullified by a jury or a progressive District Attorney,” tweeted Abbott.

Abbott announced that he had already requested the Board of Pardons and Paroles to review Perry’s conviction. Additionally, Abbott “instructed the Board to expedite its review.”

The Inevitable Destruction of Texas’ Reputation

Moreover, Abbott is making Texas into a joke. It is no longer a state which inspires patriotism and pride in our country. Under his failed leadership it has become the butt of jokes by the late-night comics and everyone who loves the nation of our Founding Fathers.

The truth is, Abbott is just another red-state governor whose priorities are the destruction of freedom and human rights in what was once the United States of America. Furthermore, at the core of this anti-American policy is racism in its most destructive and disgusting place in reality.

Pervasive racism is the biggest threat to the future of our nation.
