Jace Evans Threatens Murder-Suicide

Jenelle Evans’ son Jace, was hospitalized in a mental health facility after pulling a gun on his grandmother, according to TMZ.

The Incident

Allegedly, the “Teen Mom” star’s mother, Barbara Evans, told her Jace put a gun to his own head and threatened to kill his grandmother and himself, according to sources familiar with the incident who spoke with TMZ.

It was reported to TMZ that there are concerns of substance abuse. Sources claim 16-year-old Jace was drinking and using drugs leading up to the incident.

Police officers responded to a “troubled teen disturbance” call on Feb. 22 at Barbara’s North Carolina home. Seven officers were dispatched to the residence where Jace was staying with his grandmother.

Jace Hospitalized

Jace is receiving treatment at a mental health facility. It is not clear how long he will remain in the hospital, but those who are close to the family say they are all focused on his health and stability.

Barbara is the one who called the police on Feb. 22 and plans to file legal paperwork so she can assist in his care, according to TMZ.

A representative for Jenelle told Page Six: “At this time, we respectfully ask for privacy for the family and Jenelle Evans. This is a personal matter, and space and understanding are appreciated as they focus on their well-being and time together. Thank you for respecting their privacy during this time.”

Jenelle starred on MTV’s “Teen Mom 2” after she conceived her first child with ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis. She was a high school senior when she became pregnant with Jace, according to Page Six.

In October 2023, Jace ran away from home for the third time. Jenelle and her husband at the time, David Eason, were accused of child neglect.

Jace allegedly told police officers that Eason assaulted him, and he was observed with bruises around his arms and neck.

Also, surveillance footage from a front door camera showed an alleged altercation. Child Protective Services reviewed the video.

Allegedly, Barbara also told officers her grandson ran away due to alleged abuse from Eason.

Jenelle denied the allegations on Instagram, saying her son’s running away did not involve Eason and her estranged mother, “says a lot of things.”

When Jenelle was charged with marijuana possession and breaking and entering when she was 18, and due to that, her mother had custody of Jace for 13 years.

Jenelle regained custody of Jace in March 2023.

Additionally, she has an 11-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter.
