The Trump administration has offered Iran a 15-point ceasefire plan even as the U.S. military prepared to send 1,000 more troops to the Middle East.
Ceasefire Plan Offered
The plan was submitted to Iran through intermediaries from Pakistan who offered to host renewed negotiations, according to a person briefed on the plan who spoke on the condition of anonymity to The New York Times.
The Pentagon is in the process of deploying two Marine units adding 5,000 Marines and thousands of sailors to the area. The person added that Trump is maneuvering to give himself “max flexibility” on what he will do next.
The person also stated officials in Israel were surprised by the plan offered to Iran.
