Ted’s son Patrick Kennedy, a disgraced, acknowledged alcoholic and drug abusing former Rhode Island congressman is introducing an anti-weed organization called Smart Approaches to Marijuana. He’s lying and condemning marijuana, stating it “destroys the brain and expedites psychosis.” I do hope Ted can still rest in peace.
WOW!! Only a Kennedy could get away with this total bull! Not only does marijuana not destroy the brain, It’s the best brain medicine that exists and it’s proven to be very effective and safe for Parkinson’s Disease, MS, Alzheimer’s, Stroke, PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, migraine, etc.
“Expedite psychosis,” I didn’t even know psychosis was in a hurry. It absolutely does not cause psychosis and in fact many patients with psychosis use it for relief.
Addicts often think that they are addiction experts, and thus Kennedy states “In terms of neurobiology, there’s no distinction between the quality and types of drugs that people get addicted to…Addiction is addiction is addiction.”
Amazing! He thinks heroin, meth and marijuana are all the same. He’s used pot himself, and maybe if he used more pot and less alcohol and other drugs his brain wouldn’t be so scrambled. The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual states that marijuana is actually less addictive than caffeine.
Then he brings out the lie that will not die, the old “gateway drug” propaganda. Three different independent unbiased studies from the World Health Organization, the British government and the prestigious U.S. Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Science have all proved that marijuana is absolutely not a gateway drug. The two proven gateways are both legal: alcohol and tobacco.
Alcoholic Kennedy obviously would rather we use his drug of choice, the very addictive and deadly alcohol, instead of the very safe, non-addictive marijuana.
