This weekend marked the 24th annual Pumpkin Festival in Keene, New Hampshire, but instead of good times and fun, festivalgoers found themselves in the middle of a riot when a fight broke out and spilled into the streets.
Police officers arrived on the scene fully dressed in riot gear to find fires set between student houses at Keene State College. As the standoff began, the rowdy crowd hurled objects at the police. Soon officers gathered in formation and advanced, while shooting tear gas and pepper spray into the crowd in an effort to disperse them.
Numerous people were injured and many others were arrested during the riots. Police officers in helicopters continue to fly overhead warning everyone to go home where it is safe.
