LA Kings win their first Stanley Cup guardian express ifrackleBy Amanda Shore

The LA Kings played the Devils and won 6-1, claiming their first ever Stanley Cup. This victory made them the first ever eight-seeded playoff team to win the finals. The hockey team has been in existence for 45 years. To finally win the Stanley Cup must be exhilarating for the players, coach and fans alike.

Johnathan Quick, the MVP goalie, made 17 saves. Jeff Carter and Trevor Lewis each scored two goals. Lewis scored with only 3:45 left on the clock. It was at this moment that Quick got excited at the prospect of winning. “You get that four-goal lead, you know, it’s hard for it not to creep into your head a little bit,” he said. “That’s when you take a big, deep breath, relax a little bit and know it’s going to happen.”
