Associated Press has put out a report from Los Angeles where a train carrying at least 200 passengers collides with semi stalled on tracks in north Los Angeles County injuring three people.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s office announced that the accident involved a Metrolink train and semi-truck carrying approximately a dozen cars. The crash happened at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Newhall California.
Bill Weiss, a spokesman for the sheriff’s department says the truck driver was able to vacate his vehicle before impact.
The three injured passengers were treated at a nearby hospital.
At the moment, no one was able to provide the speed in which the train had been traveling. But according the AP report the truck was severely damaged and the train appeared unable to leave the scene.
Passengers were provided bus transportation so they could continue their travel.
