Babara Star, reporter for CNN just released a report claiming that last week Two Iranian Su-25 fighter jets discharged fire upon an unarmed U.S. Predator drone in the Persian Gulf. In other words, their military shot at an American drone.
The episode caused serious consternation among officials in the U.S. and more specifically it alarmed the Obama administration, leading them to raise question over Iranian aggression around oil shipments in the Persian Gulf.
Star reported that “the drone was in international airspace east of Kuwait, U.S. officials said, adding it was engaged in routine maritime surveillance.”
The report said the Iranian’s were unable to hit the drone, however, there is reason for concern.
The report also stated that “two U.S. officials explained the jets were part of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps force, which has been more confrontational than regular Iranian military forces.”
According to Star, the Obama administration did not reveal the apparent aggression but we can thank Star and CNN for releasing the report. Interesting the potential conflict happen on Nov, 1 2012 and not only was it reported on CNN, three senior officials have confirmed the actions.
