It’s Going to be a Big One
The National Weather Service is predicting an extremely severe wet storm arriving on Friday. It will affect the entire west coast from Washington to southern California. It will be severe enough to issue flood warnings for Washoe country west of 395 along river and stream areas.
Reno is expected to receive heavy rain showers and high winds, but no snow. The elevation for snowfall will be well above 7000 feet. Reno/Sparks temperatures will remain in the mid 50’s during the day with low temperatures rising a few degrees above freezing.
All of us living in the Reno/Sparks area are grateful for storms that get “shadowed out” by the Sierras. There will most likely be several dangerous and unpleasant situations in northern California, western Oregon and Washington.
