Incident Leaves four Dead
Franktown Township is a rural Pennsylvania community about 70 miles west of Harrisburg. The Juniata Valley Gospel Church in Franktown was the site of gunshots today, resulting in the death of 4 people, including the gunman.
The District Attorney’s office believes that one of the deceased was the target of the gunman. When the State Police arrived, he exchanged fire with the Police. He then rammed his truck into a police cruiser, when they shot and killed him.
Three troopers were injured in the melee.
Blair County District Attorney Richard Consiglio said that one of the troopers was shot, one was injured in a vehicle crash and one was injured by residue from gunfire. None sustained life-threatening injuries in the shooting incident, which occurred at multiple locations over several miles near Geeseytown.
Police and emergency officials gave no other details But the Blair County Emergency Management Agency said it was calling in counselors for the public to a command center they set up at the Geeseytown Fire Station.
