Police report another gang related teen shooting in east LA

There has been yet another gang related teen shooting.

Another gang related, teen shooting local Police have reported. They are searching for two suspects in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old male in Highland Park. The victim apparently had a tattoo on his back with HLP, and police believe that it is a gang-related killing. Sgt. Robert Alaniz, with the Northeast Division Gang Unit, reported that the 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering from multiple gun shots at 100 block of North Avenue 51 near Figueroa Street.

Gang unit officers, who were in the area, heard gun shots at about 8:45 p.m. and traveled west towards Monte Vista. The officers came upon an unresponsive teen on the ground in front of 119 N. Avenue 51.

The teen was declared dead at the scene. Two suspects are described as male Latinos, fled on foot and left the scene in a dark-colored, mid-sized vehicle, Alaniz said.

The victim’s identity is withheld until next of kin can be notified, however a neighbor is reported to have said that he was a nice boy, always polite around their daughter, always joking, laughing and seemed to have a love of life, She further said she felt for the victims mother.
