There is a new craze spreading in the world of weddings. Now the hip thing to do is have your wedding party chased by a “Big Bad.”  This weeks “Big Bad” was a Star Wars AT-AT wedding attack caught for posterity in a photograph!

Last month, the” Big Bad” was a T-rex that chased a Louisiana bridal party in a photograph that went off the chain in terms of viral photos.  This month, the latest viral wedding villains are ones that will be familiar to fans of Star Wars everywhere.

Toronto photographers Danielle and Tony Lombardo recently posted a photo to their website of three AT-AT walkers chasing their friends Leslie Seiler and Paul Kingston’s wedding party. On their website they also posted the following information:

“There was a shot floating around the internet last week of a bridal party being chased by a dinosaur. It’s funny, admittedly. So here’ s our take on the idea…mostly because Leslie (and us) are huge Star Wars nerds! We couldn’t resist their bridal party getting chased by a squad of Imperial AT-AT Walkers! lol. So for all you Star Wars fans, this ones for you.”

Speaking to  The Huffington Post  Tony said that they were inspired by the  viral dinosaur-chasing-bridal-party shot from last month and that he wanted to “kick it up a notch and do something cool,” utilising the couple’s love of “Star Wars.”

They stopped traffic on Eglinton Ave. in Toronto in order to get the photo. Later, they shot their son’s AT-AT toy on a seamless backdrop and placed three in the background using Photoshop.

Tony wrote in an email, “[It’s] funny how something that you have literally five minutes to shoot can turn out so awesome when the bridal party commits to the challenge.  You really only get one take when asking women in heels to run for their lives!”

And that T-Rex photograph that went astronomically viral? Well, here it is:

On Monday May 27,  photographer Quinn Miller posted this amazing photo on his business’s Facebook page with the caption, “Things got real crazy at the Lowder wedding last night.”

The photo, was posted to Reddit on Wednesday May 30 by the bride’s sorority sister and it quickly went viral, with many viewers dubbing it the “best wedding photo ever.”

Speaking to the Huffington Post via email, Miller said that he gave the bridal party the following instructions before the photo was taken: “Run right at the camera, away from the T-Rex, as passionately as you can. I need to see fear and actual running, not lame faces and power walking.” Mission accomplished.

Miller said that he had seen something similar done once before and, considering the groom’s love of dinosaurs, knew the couple would be up for it.

Miller concluded, “It didn’t take any convincing to the bride and groom. They are such a fun couple and a fun wedding party that all I had to do is tell them to run away from an invisible dinosaur. And they did. We did it in one take.”

On Miller’s facebook page the couple in the photograph posted this funny exchange:

Scott Johnston First major disagreement as husband & wife:Bride: Who invited the T-Rex???
Groom: You did! You specifically told me to”
Bride: No I didn’t! I said “DON’T invite the Ex!”
Groom: OH! I thought I heard you say, “Invite T-Rex. Whoops!”

So we think Quinn Miller was correct in his assessment of the couple’s fun level!

So while this week’s “super villain” or “Big Bad” was a Star Wars AT-AT wedding party attack in a photograph, we can’t wait what the next wedding threat will be. A giant tarantula perhaps? Like an AT-AT, they are a multi-legged creature that, in the right proportions would definitely terrify a wedding!
