On Sunday, Syria announced that it would begin granting access to UN inspectors in the area for inspections. The Syrian regime was accused five days ago of using chemical weapons in Damascus and its surrounding suburbs.
“The foreign minister affirmed Syria’s desire to cooperate with the team of inspectors,” reads a statement from an official at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “to unmask the falsehood of the allegations by terrorist groups that Syrian forces used chemical weapons in the eastern Ghouta.”
