Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have been BFFs for a long time, at least five years by Selena’s count. But after the MTV VMA show last night, Gomez revealed the real reason that she is Taylor’s BFF.
This girlfriend does not tell tales out of school.
When Selena was asked by a reporter just what Taylor Swift actually said after her seemingly foul mouthed aside, she got as uptight as an old school ma-arm. Gomez said, “Don’t try that with me!” All that was missing was the finger snap and a “Oh no you did-ent!” There was no way that Selena was going to drop her gal pal in the shizzle.
But did anyone really think that Taylor Swift of all people would come out with “shut the f*** up?” Seriously? The 23 year-old singer is the polar opposite of Miley Cyrus. While Miley, who came as close to career suicide as is possible in her VMA performance without using a gun, has an entire foul mouthed vocabulary, Taylor does not. Not in public at least.
So curious folks who want to know what Swift really muttered to her 21 year-old BFF should probably ask her and not Selena. Because the real reason that Gomez and Taylor are BFFs has everything to do with watching each other’s back.
Selen did explain her reaction to the question, which was asked at the premiere of her new film Getaway on Monday. She said, “I think girls need to be more supportive of each other. I definitely agree with that. I’m all about that. Taylor has been one of those girls. We have been friends for five years. She is very strong. She doesn’t care what people think and she inspires me.”
So we get it. Selena is very protective of her friends. And since she and Taylor have been buddies for sometime now, she is obviously even more protective of her. Gomez did say one thing about the Sunday night awards program, she revealed that she was surprised that she won the Best Pop Video for her Come & Get It video.
She said, “So I am watching the beautiful boys, One Direction who are not bad to look at, then they said my name. I looked at Taylor … it was surreal. Because I do put so much work into my music. There’s so much talk of everything. But I did put my heart and soul into it so I was really excited. It was great.”
Neither Selena or Taylor Swift have spoken to the press about Miley Cyrus’ performance on the MTV VMA show. Judging by the rest of the audience’s reactions caught on webcam, we can only assume that it wasn’t good. But judging from the Gomez reaction to questions about Taylor’s remark, we can only assume that she would respond in a similar fashion if asked about Miley’s “melt-down” performance.
Taylor Swift would most likely be reticent about answering as well. Not because she felt she owed it to Miley, but because, like Selena, she does not speak out of turn either. But one thing we have learned from the two young ladies is how much they value each other’s friendship.
So we now know the real reason that Selena Gomez is Taylor Swift’s BFF. No speaking behind the other person’s back and no tales out of school. We get it and admire it.

On the back of the coin is an image of the Third Temple. They are selling these coins to raise money to build the Temple.
People have been saying for many years that the end is near, but we needed not only the Third Temple, but also the technology for there to be a cashless society for the Mark of the Beast to be a reality.
