Peshawar, September 29, 2013: In the third blast within a week in Peshawar, thirty three people have lost their lives, majority of them women and children, while eighty eight are seriously to critically injured. The toll of those dead and injured is estimated to rise. The blast took place at 11pm in the morning , in the crowded inner city locale of “Qissa Khawni” Bazaar__ the story teller’s street. Emergency has been declared in the city.
According to the police sources, the first blast was most probably caused by a hand grenade; while the second, much more destructive blast was from the explosives inside a car parked on the busy street and was triggered by a remote control device.
