For the last week or so, there have been rumors about the release date of the second version of the Nexus 10. Leaks to the press have seen Google confirm the release date of the Google Nexus 10 2 for Black Friday, just in time for the sales. More than that, the internet giant has also confirmed that its original Nexus 10 will be reduced in price on that day.
Android Operating System Update
Part of the new additions to the Android world includes the new operating system. Android 4.4, better known as KitKat, was released on November 22 for the original 10-inch tablet. The update didn’t go without hiccups for many but eventually it was loaded, running and people saw the software Google has worked hard on to develop.
Upgrading at the moment is risky business. While Google has officially released KitKat, the OTA development is still underway. There could be bugs and issues when you first upgrade, so you need to make the decision whether you want to risk it or wait a couple of weeks for a painless switch-over.
Bundles for the Google Nexus 10
The first generation of the Nexus 10 will be available at a lower price. As part of the confirmations, Google is offering the 16GB tablet for about $320 on the Play Store, with the 32GB version about $100 more. It goes hand-in-hand with the leaked/possibly confirmed Black Friday release date of the Google Nexus 10 2.
However, other stores around the country will be offering better deals. Some stores have already confirmed that they will offer the Google Nexus 7 at a lower deal of $199 but they haven’t quite confirmed their deals for the 10-inch version. Rumors are that bundle deals will be available. The Nexus 10 will be available with screen covers, car chargers, stands and other great accessories. Many people will need to answer the question of whether they want to save on the tablet or gain the extras.
There are already discounts on some stores, especially the likes of eBay and Amazon.
Google Rumors of the Nexus 8
There are still rumors about the Google Nexus 8 but there are high chances that it will be released on Black Friday, too. This is when Apple’s new iPad Mini is being released so Google will want to compete and the Nexus 8 tablet is the way for them to do that. Nothing has been leaked about that tablet yet.
The Google Nexus 10 2 will be up against Apple’s new iPad Air on the day, so it makes sense for Google to want to bring it out on Black Friday. So far, rumors include the Snapdragon quad-core 800 chip and 2560 x 1600 resolution. It will also have the KitKat operating system.
Google hasn’t confirmed publicly, but leaks from the press state the release date for the Google Nexus 10 2 is Black Friday. The price is rumored to be between $400 and $450 for the 16GB version with Wi-Fi and mobile internet, which battles against Apple’s starting price of $500 for the Air.

There have been several “rumored” release dates that have come and gone. I have seen Oct 24, 28, and 31 reported. Also, Nov 21 and 22.
In my opinion, these “rumors” are just wishful thinking by certain people that get reported by people who don’t do anything to fact check.
There is no reason to believe that one will come out before or on Black Friday. There has been no evidence other than “rumors” and a few suspicious looking images.
If there was going to be a new Nexus by Thanksgiving, wouldn’t Google want retailers to have time to get it into their Black Friday advertising?
CONFUSING
Your headline says one thing and your article says another.
Seems like a cheesy way to get readers but I guess it works.
No credibility here.
I just wish they would tell us. I am buying a tab for Christmas. I want to know my options.
Everyone knows leaks to the press means they are not fact yet just rumours. I think you guys are being overly critical to the reporter. I am happy to read about the rumours because Google are rubbish at announcing anything. I am looking forward to the new tablet and the wait is killing me too. I have the money to buy one now but the Xbox one is also tempting me lol. 😉
Does the new tablet reproduce a shade of yellow vibrant enough to represent this rumor-mongering “journalism”?
Sources for those Google confirmations?
Will someone please step up and end this stupid game? I am about to dump Google, unless they start treating their customers better…
Ms Farnham, and what “stupid game” is this? That they’re not going to announce the release date until they announce it? That they’re not going to release the updates until they release them? Seriously, I feel you’d be much happier with Apple products. They tell you what to buy, what to like, and when to feel happy. And, they’ll tell you that you’re being treated, as a customer, in the best way possible.
The “stupid game” being played here is by disgusting websites like this which post unfounded rumors and pretend they’re facts. Google hasn’t indicated in any way that they are about to introduce a new Nexus device. It’s pretty silly to blame Google for the stuff that idiot’s say on their behalf.
At no point have I pretended that the rumors are facts–I’ve even clearly stated that Google hasn’t confirmed anything yet. It clearly states they are rumors with apparent leaks and the sources are there for you to double check and find out more. Read the whole piece before you assume something, please. With the way the market is, it would be silly for Google not to release a second gen of their Nexus 10 if it wants to continue to compete with Apple.
You certainly imply it, “possibly confirmed”. I mean WTH is that? What happened to good reporting? To confirming sources & at a minimum, searching for any corroborating evidence, such as PUBLIC FCC filings that actually make sense. Just plain fast paced lazy blogging. Not an ounce of journalism.
You can’t call writers like this journalists. They are really just professional spammers paid to write click bait. These people care nothing about facts or journalism. A reputable person wouldn’t take this job.
I agree. Its just a rehash of rumours from other sites. Nothing factual.
BTW, can you provide a source your claim that Google has “confirmed” that they will offer the current Nexus 10 for $420 on Black Friday?
Yes you have so pretended. You wrote:
“Leaks to the press have seen Google confirm the release date of the Google Nexus 10 2 for Black Friday”
You’re nothing but a paid liar.
