
Dhaka, Bangladesh, Dec., 2013 – Abdul Kader Mullah, a prominent leader of the fundamentalist Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has been finally hanged. Bangladesh was sentenced to death a couple of months ago when he was found guilty of killing over 300 unarmed men, women and children. The crime happened in a single day during the war of independence with Pakistan back in 1971.
Mullah was popularily known as the ‘Butcher of Mirpur.’ Mirpur is a suburb of the capital of Dhaka.
