Best Smartphones to Buy or Receive as Gifts

The best smartphones and best smartphone deals for the holiday season depends on what features you’re looking for, but what follows are some of the season’s best smartphones to choose from, and the reasons why you might want to add one (or more) of them to your Christmas gift list.

One of the season’s most popular smartphones is the Apple iPhone 5S, though, if you’re looking for a more economical iPhone, the iPhone 5C might be the one for you. The iPhone 5S is, according to major US wireless carriers, the current top-selling smartphone around. One feature of the Apple iPhone 5S that has appealed to consumers is that it has fingerprint recognition technology, where your fingerprint acts as a passcode to activate your iPhone 5S.

The HTC One is another great choice. The OS and its Sense UI have both been updated, and the price might be right for you — it can be found for as little as $50, with a contract. Also, you can purchase the One mini and the original One is many colors, and you can soon, if not now, get the One max in black.

Samsung’s Galaxy line is yet another smartphone choice that you might find attractive. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was this summer’s most popular smartphone. With its ability to share information with other Samsung smartphones, it is another popular choice you might like to consider buying for yourself or as a holiday gift.

What are some features you should look for in a smartphone?

The features that consumers look for vary from consumer to consumer. However, there are some features which appeal to a wide range of consumers, like speed — most consumers want to buy a smartphone that is fast.

The Apple iPhone 5S has an A7 chip in it, making it one of the fastest smartphones around, so if you want to get a fast smartphone, the iPhone 5S might be just right for you.

Other consumers look for a smartphone that delivers a high resolution, high definition screen. The smartphone which has the best screen resolution is the Samsung Galaxy S4. If having a smartphone with a high definition screen is something you’re looking for, you should consider buying this one.

Yet another aspect about buying a smartphone that many consumers are interested in is getting one that’s economical, or which delivers the most sought-after features for the money you’re paying.

One of the best smartphones to get if you’re on a limited budget is the Moto G from Motorola. You can buy a Motorola Atrix MB860 GSM Phone, Black (Unlocked) from Walmart for $199, or a Motorola Atrix 4G MB861 smartphone from Amazon with a 5MP camera for just $119, unlocked.

If taking quality photos is an aspect about getting a smartphone that interests you, there are several you can chose form, though the Nokia 1020 Best Snapper with its 41-megapixel camera is a leader in the market. With its fully manual mode, you can take full control over the photos you take. You can even zoom in on photos after they’ve been taken. It also features a scratch-proof screen, Snapdragon processor, and wireless charging.

If you’re looking for the smartphone which has the best overall features, then the Apple iPhone 5S might be the perfect choice for you.

It has a High Definition Retina display, a very fast A7 chip (mentioned earlier in this article), and fingerprint recognition. This feature will make punching in a PIN seem so last year — which it is, really.

The Apple iPhone 5S has an 8-megapixel camera, and a battery life of up to 10 hours. It’s also 4G ready, and it has a 4″ Retina display. You can purchase it with 16 GB, 32 GB, or 64 GB or storage.

The right smartphone for you is a highly subjective matter, but the smartphones mentioned in this article are some of the best-selling ones with the most desirable features on the market today. Bias toward the 5s for sure. LG g2 is also pretty fast, and with a better processor.
