Police have confirmed that a man was stabbed on the southbound No. 2 train in the Bronx today. The train was near the Mott Haven section when the stabbing occurred.
Police and train officials halted the train at 3rd Avenue and 149th Street station. The stabbing victim was treated before being moved to Lincoln Hospital. Current state of the victim is unknown.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) says that the No. 2 and No. 5 trains have been suspended. The trains are out-of-service between 149th Street or the Grand Concourse and Jackson Ave.
Police are still on the scene investigating.
