Legendary Pokémon #719 Diancie in Pokemon Movie Cocoon of Destruction

Diancie Pokémon in new movie Cocoon of Destruction

The Kalos region Pokédex is now officially one entry larger. CoroCoro magazine has revealed officially that the so-called legendary Pokémon Diancie is the next entry in the Pokédex, number #719, coming directly after Zygarde. According to the Pokedex, Diancie is Rock and Fairy type. This news accompanies the next Pokemon movie Cocoon of Destruction which hits Japanese theaters July 19 2014.

Back in November it became known that deep in the code of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y awaited three legendary Pokemon. These Pokemon could not be found in-game but were discovered regardless. This led many to believe that the legendaries would become known through special events from Nintendo. Now it seems Diancie will be the first of the three to reach us. Diancie seems to be the proof that points at the other two becoming available in time.

The news of Diancie in Corocoro Magazine accompanies the news of the next Pokemon movie, Cocoon of Destruction. The official title is Pokémon XY: Cocoon of Destruction & Diancie. That stands to be most of the knowledge given because it is still unknown as to how Diancie will be released. It is possible a tie-in event would take place the night the movie is released, but that is only speculation at this point.

With news of Diancie in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y it makes one wonder about the other accompanying legendaries, Hoopa and Volcanion. All three were discovered in the game’s code and Diancie has now been officially announced but the other two still have no official acknowledgement. When they plan to be released has yet to be seen. Could they be hiding in the still locked Kalos Power Plant?

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y already have a good number of legendaries: Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, and of course Mewtwo. Which legendary bird you get depends on your starter and only Pokemon X gets Xerneas while Pokemon Y gets Yveltal. Speculation says that the Diancie trio (including Hoopa and Volcanion) is the final legendary trio batch in the generation. For help finding any of these legendaries click here.

The specifics about Diancie reveal that the legendary is the “jewel” pokemon. Diancie is Rock Fairy type which has led some to theorize that Diancie is an evolution of Carbink in some manner due to both being new to the Kalos region and being the same type. Base stats looks like this: HP 60 \ Attack 75 \ Defense 175 \ Special Attack 75 \ Special Defense 175 \ Speed 50 \ total 610. Both defenses are amazingly bulky which leads to rather abysmal speed.

The new Pokémon movie is said to have the newly confirmed Pokémon #719 Diancie. How to obtain the Rock Fairy type Pokemon still remains unknown. Pokémon XY: Cocoon of Destruction & Diancie is said to appear in Japanese theaters July 19 2014. Still no official word on legendaries Hoopa and Volcanion.

OMG! I want! I must have! Cuteness and a defensive beast all wrapped in one? Yes. I’m not sure if she will be a carbink evolution but if she has defenses like that she will make a wonderfully cute wall. If she had an amazingly high attack or special attack that would be good too.
