Ken Ham Has Answers for Women

Creationist Ken Ham, in addition to being in the process of launching what, depending on individual opinion, is either the construction or reconstruction of Noah’s Ark, now appears to have answers for women. On his blog, Ham announced what he calls “conference-early-bird” discount for Answers in Genesis’ Answers for Women conference.

The conference, specifically intended for Christian women, as is emphasized in the blog post, deals with a topic they have named “Women Living After Eve,” and is led by Dr. Georgia Purdom with Joy White, Joy Fagan, Candi Finch and Mary Mohler as additional speakers. These women, whom Ham refers to as “dynamic speakers”, will teach other women the truths of God’s Word, which appears to be purpose of this conference.

The annual Answers for Women conference, as Ken Ham further goes on, is all about teaching biblical apologetics, which he then further goes on to explain as the purpose of the organization Answers in Genesis to equip everyone with, adults and children of both genders alike, making them better fit to answer what he calls “the skeptical questions of the age.”

It is led by Dr. Georgia Purdom, who according to the website of the conference has a passion to help women comprehend the significance of biblical jurisdiction in their roles as mothers and wives. According to her biography, as listed on Answers in Genesis’ website, she holds a PhD in molecular genetics, with cellular and molecular biology as specialty. A Ohio State graduate, PhD as of 2000, her graduate work is on genetic regulation of factors important for bone remodeling. Further, she’s a member the American Society for Cell Biology and the American Society for Microbiology, in addition to which she has also served as a professor in the field. In her scientific research, according the biography, she focuses on mutation in microbial population and on the roles of natural selection, which to some fellow scientists might come shocking as they would perhaps argue that it could conflict with her religious devotion to creationism. The biography appears to respectively counter argue that as it further mentions an exhibit at the Creation Museum named “Natural Selection is Not Evolution,” which she designed, and the design crucially relied upon her expertise.

Biblical apologist Ken Ham, a public speaker giving faith-building answers and insights to thousands of men, women and children each year, on the reliability of the Bible and related topics, is the founder and president of Answers in Genesis, the organization that hosts the conference. Ham has made a name for himself in the global media recently, as his debate with fellow scientist and public figure Bill Nye, who’s a firm believer in the Darwinist theory of how the world was created, or perhaps, in Darwinian terms, evolved. Now he again generated attention after he recently announced that his long dreamed vision to construct a full size Noah’s Ark, and a theme park to go with it, was ready to launch as the publicity of the debate helped convince investors and secure the funding.

The Answers for Women conference, according to an introduction on the site, appears to first and foremost deal with discouragements that women might experience toward the idea of living up to what’s expected of them in the Bible, something that to some feminists might seem outrageous. It appears, however, that Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis believe they have answers for women.
