The most recent Selena Gomez stalker has been charged with felony. A conviction could lead to jail time, which will probably put the 21-year-old singer at ease and will prevent her delinquent boyfriend taking matters into his own hands!
Che Cruz was arrested last week and ordered to stay away from the former Disney star. He could have faced jail that time for up to 45 days, but served just two days and was released on Friday. As soon as that happened, he made his way back to the singer’s property and jumped the fence to get in. Arrested again, he has now violated his probation from the initial offense and will now face a possible four years in jail.
It would be much safer for Gomez for him to be in jail. This 20-year-old obviously shows signs that he cannot abide by the law. The jail time will also give him chance to reflect on his actions, and get any mental help that he needs so that it does not happen again. It will also keep him safe from harm. The 21-year-old’s boyfriend, Justin Bieber, has already proven to have a short fuse especially when it comes to her.
The whole thing must be quite scary for the actress turned singer. She was home when Cruz trespassed the first time. She may have been home the second time, but there is no confirmation as of yet. Gomez can set her mind at ease a little knowing that her stalker is facing the harsher charge of felony for his second attempt.
Despite pleading no contest to the initial offense, Cruz has chosen to plead not guilty to this one. As well as felony, he is being charged with violating a court protection order since he did not stay away from the actress. He was already scheduled for a day on April 7 for the initial offense, and that was used for the plea for his most recent. He will now appear again on April 17 to face trial for his actions.
This is not the first time Gomez has had a trespasser on her property. At the start of the year a 19-year-old was arrested for the same thing. Luckily, she was not in the home at the time and the dates match the time that she was in rehab for two weeks.
Most celebrity drama is not this dangerous. Who knows what could have happened had Cruz made his way into the house while the 21-year-old was there. It is a scary thought for anyone to have someone trespassing. The home is a place for safety and security. When someone violates that, it is common to start questioning if there is anywhere safe.
It would not be surprising if the singer decided to increase her bodyguard count right now. Cruz is not the first and will likely not be the last. She is young, good-looking and extremely successful, and she really needs to put her own safety first. Luckily for Gomez, her stalker has been charged with a felony and could be in jail for four years if he is found guilty.
