At Least One American Killed in Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17

Malaysia Airlines

President Obama announced at a press briefing this morning that at least one American was killed on Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17. The Boeing 777 passenger plane was shot down yesterday reportedly by a surface to air missile. Samantha Power, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations has indicated that the missile was believed to have been located in eastern Ukraine and operated by separatists.

According to Power, if this proves true, the possibility that Russia “offered to help to operate the system” cannot be ruled out. The American passenger on board Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was Quinn Lucas Schansman, who had dual Dutch citizenship, and was one of 298 passengers, which included 80 children. There were no survivors from the crash.

Sadly I think Washington was tickled pink to have at least one American aboard flight MH17 so they could ramp up their outrage. Whether shot down by accident or intentionally, most of the evidence on how and why this occurred will most likely come from sources other than the crash site or fields where the flight went down. I for one feel total disgust and seriously distressed that this tragedy has become nothing more than a propaganda gem. More on this topic in the article below.
