The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed the first case of Ebola virus in the United States. This is now the first domestic appearance of the deadly virus, which has taken hundreds of lives in the continental Africa.
The officials form the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas told in their statement that a patient, who’s name they did not want to reveal, was being tested for Ebola. Due to his recent travel history and his symptoms, similar to Ebola, the patient had been placed in strict isolation.
CDC will give further details in a news briefing at 5.30 pm ET.
