Bomb Threat Closes I-15 at Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas

Thursday afternoon, the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a suspicious package found along I-15 at Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas. After arriving on the scene, officers determined that the package may possibly be a bomb threat and needed to be investigated further by the Las Vegas Metro police.

As a precaution, officers closed southbound lanes of I-15 at Tropicana Avenue and diverted motorists by forcing them to exit at Tropicana and re-enter the freeway at Russell Road. Northbound lanes of I-15 have also been blocked off at Sahara for the past four hours due to a wreck.
