‘Star Wars Episode VII’ Will Feature Darth Vader Again?

Rumors that the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode VII film will feature Darth Vader in the series again have recently been making the rounds on the internet. Followers of the saga will know that the legendary character of Darth Vader died in the last chronological installment of the series, Return of the Jedi. One must wonder how the team at Lucasfilm plan to execute such a feat.

Recently, an account on the photo site Imageshack entitled “themillenniumfalcon” released 32 concept art photos that are said to be official drawings from the upcoming J.J. Abrams-directed film. The actual images may be much harder to find than anticipated due to the fact that mainstream media sites are not posting the photos or any links that lead to said pictures for fear of infringement violations. However, the descriptions of many of the photos are made available and just the summary of certain images may excite fans just as much as seeing the pictures would.

One of the first and more notable leaked images from the new Star Wars film is that of the iconic figure of Darth Vader himself. Yes, the man underneath the mask, Anakin Skywalker, died in the arms of his son, Luke, on the Death Star and his body was burned on one of the moons of the planet Endor, but it seems that will not be last appearance that Vader makes in the Star Wars franchise.

The aforementioned image features a cyborg-like figure in a black cloak with a battered mask concealing its face. The figure is seen holding the famous Darth Vader helmet in a very Shakespearian pose reflecting that of Hamlet’s well-known “to be or not to be” monologue. The photo is said to display the helmet as very charred and worn down undoubtably from the burning of Vader’s body in Return of the Jedi. The intentions of this particular character and who the figure even is still remains a mystery, but due to the similarity in appearance and apparent obsession with the former Sith Lord, perhaps this character will fill in the Vader slot in Episode VII.

Continuing with a cyborg theme, an image of the lovable furry wookie Chewbacca was released, displaying what is reportedly considered a battle wound. The right paw of the creature is no longer the mass of hair seen in previous episodes as a mechanical arm now takes place of the wookie’s limb. The original photo displays a caption confirming that Chewbacca’s bionic arm is from a war wound, which leads one to believe that the paw was amputated some time since Episode VI in the Star Wars saga.

More of the leaked images are reported to include the likes of a new heroine which is believed to be new actress Daisy Ridley’s character investigating the lair of the film’s primary villain. The aforementioned cloaked cyborg appears to be a featured antagonistic force in the new Star Wars film as he is also seen in a separate image taking hold of what looks to be a captive Ridley.

Whether Darth Vader will be featured in Star Wars Episode VII or not, it is completely evident that fans’s excitement only continues to grow with each passing day. The official release date for the new film is scheduled to drop on Dec. 18, 2015.

it’s not from the “to be or not to be” soliloquy, but from “alas, poor yorick,” but you’re right, it is from Hamlet.
