Nikki Reed Asked Ian Somerhalder to Quit The Vampire Diaries?

The Vampire Diaries

Nikki Reed has reportedly asked fiancé Ian Somerhalder to quit hit show The Vampire Diaries. She is reportedly jealous of his relationship with ex-girlfriend and on-screen love interest Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena Gilbert. However, others report that Dobrev and Somerhalder are no longer on speaking terms on the set.

It has been a season full of rumors. Somerhalder and Dobrev broke up last year after two years of dating. Things seemed fine at first, until the 35-year-old actor started dating Reed, and brought her onto the set. After just weeks of dating, the two moved in together into his Atlanta home and she became a regular fixture on the set.

Right away, there were rumors that Dobrev had asked for the Twilight actress to be banned from the set. The public display of affection between the two new love birds was too much to take. However, others reported that this was not the case. Dobrev was happy that Somerhalder had moved on, and was fine with Reed being around.

However, recently there were rumors that the 26-year-old actress was considering quitting the show after season six. There is still the possibility that she will leave The Vampire Diaries as no confirmation has been made over whether she has signed a contract for another year. This is not likely due to her previous relationship with Somerhalder, though. She reportedly wants to move into movies, and has a good chance to do that now.

Despite rumors that Dobrev and Somerhalder were no longer on talking terms, Reed has reportedly asked her fiancé to quit The Vampire Diaries. It turns out that the two are getting close again, due to their characters getting closer. Reed is getting jealous of their relationship, and worries about the stability of her own.

In The Vampire Diaries, Damon and Elena were pushed apart after Damon’s death in season five. Elena had her memories of love for him compelled away, and Alaric was turned human before he could compel the memories back. However, over the last few episodes, the two vampires have grown closer as Elena starts to fall for her ex-boyfriend again. It means more kissing and cuddling on the set of The Vampire Diaries, and Reed is not happy.

Sources say that it is possible the two actors will get back together in real life, and this is something the Twilight actress fears. She does not want them working together anymore, but it seems like Dobrev is not quitting the show anytime soon after all.

The Vampire Diaries has been renewed for a seventh season. Caroline Dries, executive producer, said that Damon and Elena will fall in love again, and it looks like their relationship is set to blossom in the next season if the two actors stay on. None of the actors’ representatives have spoken about the recent rumors. Somerhalder and Dobrev seem more focused on their work, and want to create the best storyline for the fans. However, it does not stop fans worrying that Reed is reportedly asking Somerhalder to quit The Vampire Diaries.

^^ Why can’t fans follow him to his next project? Or are they just a fan of the character Damon? Ian’s been on TVD for 6 years. Is he expected to rot there and never take another role or further his career? I hope Ian does leave soon and I’m sure it would be a decision made by him. I’ve been a fan since LOST and I’ll be a fan of his next adventure.
