Benjamin Netanyahu Addresses Congress

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed Congress today following yesterday’s American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). He was met with several minutes of roaring applause as he entered the House chamber. Netanyahu said the United States and Israel share a density of hope going into the future.

“We appreciate all that President Obama has done for Israel.” Intelligence sharing and opposing Iranian nuclear proliferation at the U.N. has helped Israel feel safe amongst a encroaching Islamic insurgency throughout the Middle East. President Obama provided support in the Israel embassy siege in 2011 which helped the nation to ward of extremist attacks. “President Obama has always been there for me and the nation of Israel and I will always be grateful for that support.” He said Israel is grateful of Congress for the missile defense of Israel and their “Iron Dome” and general military support.

Netanyahu said that Iran used to be a peaceful nation. In 1977, the county was taken over by Islamic extremists who wanted to implement a vision of Jihad. He said, ” the country is leading the world towards a future of death and tyranny.” Last week, Iran exercised military exercises where they destroyed a mock U.S. aircraft carrier. “If Iran’s aggression remain unchecked, more egregious motions will continue…we must stop Iran’s subjugation of terror.”

Netanyahu said Iran’s radical regime persecutes Christians, hangs homosexual individuals, and jails journalists and must be stopped to promote a peaceful Middle East. Netanyahu fervently stated, “The enemy of your enemy is your enemy.”
