Is FKA Twigs Using Pattinson or Is He Using Her?

Underground British songwriter and producer FKA Twigs has a very unique song style which not a lot of people appreciate. However, for Robert Pattinson, Twigs’ soulful, exotic style was the perfect sound and, it seems, so was her long hair and sexy image. On the flip side, Twigs’ career has taken off since she began dating the Twilight actor. Is he using her or is she using him?

Twigs has created her own fan base who love her soulful music and extra-terrestrial videos, but was not really pushing the envelope enough to gain a larger following. Like most underground singers, it is safe to say that she was having a hard time in her attempts to get her music to go mainstream. Although not widely known, Twigs managed to release an album, LP1, which still did not top the charts.

Since the breakup between the two stars of the Twilight films, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Pattinson has displayed an interesting taste in women and has generated a lot of attention for himself, while also bringing massive amounts of publicity to his new lover, Twigs. Within that time, the singer has been nominated for two Brit Awards and has come out with a video for her new song, Pendulum, leaving people to wonder why she is suddenly getting so much recognition for songs which previously had not been successful? It is safe to assume that anyone who might be having trouble gaining success in the entertainment industry would do much worse than to date Pattinson. This could be a lovely relationship or they could both be using each other to get what they want.

Pattinson, who portrayed Edward, the infamous blood-sucking vampire in the Twilight tetralogy, has numerous followers who profess to being on “Team Edward.” With such a large fan base and global fame to his name, many perks would go along with dating such a well-known actor, not the least of which is an immediate thrust into the public spotlight.

The relationship between Twigs and Pattinson may have helped Twigs with her newfound rise in the public eye,  but Pattinson himself may not be blameless. Reports are that when Stewart cut her long hair short, Pattinson was not impressed. According to Hollywoodlife.com, Pattinson “always preferred Kristin’s hair on the long side,” adding that her new, shorter locks were “just not that sexy to him.”

Pattinson’s new girlfriend, with her long tresses, surely does not have to worry about Pattinson not finding her sexy, especially given the singer’s penchant to whip her hair around in her videos. Pattinson is smitten enough to have co-produced Twig’s new music video for Pendulum, which shows the singer hanging upside down from her long locks in what look like intricate bondage positions.

It could be possible that Pattinson prefers his women to look like the stereotype of what is feminine and sexy, all long legs and hair. Stewart discovered that herself when she changed her look from the stereotypical long-haired ingenue to a more independent and strong persona, short hair and all.

The actor had better be careful if he is using Twigs solely for her sex appeal. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Twigs said, “If you’re going to get to know me on the body that God gave me, then you’re going to get a shock at some point.” Twigs should be advised that visiting a hair salon may be detrimental to her relationship with Pattinson.
