Lip Sync Battle on Spike TV had another fantastic episode tonight, with NFL great and co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America, Michael Strahan, going head-to-head versus his rival talk show host, Hoda Kotb. Before the show, probably most viewers would have said that Michael Strahan would handily win; but, Hoda Kotb proved to be a worthy opponent. Read on to find out who was the winner of the epic lip sync battle!
Host LL Cool J explained the rules, and stated that the audience would declare who the winner was by their applause. He then introduced his co-host, Chrissy Teigen and the two opponents, Hoda Kotb of the Today Show and NFL legend, Michael Strahan. He gave Hoda a hug as he walked onto the stage.
Hoda went first. She said “Oh, my God! I’m kinda nervous!” Hoda chose to lip sync to Baby Got Back to start off the show, even doing the speaking voice at the start of the song. She danced as she sang, and showed she definitely has a lot of sass and attitude when pressed. Her performance was pretty impressive.
“My heart is pounding!” Hoda exclaimed afterward.
“It looked like you’ve done it before!” Chrissy told her.
Michael was next up. He lip synced to the Fergie song, London Bridge. It was a laugh riot! He waved one arm in the air as he sang about the guys wanting to go under his “London Bridge.” He sang right into the face of a female in the studio audience. Strahan just might have pulled ahead with his performance.
Hoda said “From this angle, it looked pretty good!”
Chrissy told Strahan, “You cut them cakes, baby!” Then, Lip Sync Battle went to a commercial break.
Back from the break, LL Cool J said that “Michael has a real shot.” He showed Hoda backstage preparing. Hoda said that she heard Michael across the hall in his room, “crying.”
Hoda said she would be “singing some funk.” She sang Don’t Believe Me, Just Watch, by Maino. She was dressed in pimp clothes, with a pink jacket, white hat and shades. She gave a very energetic performance, complete with some great dancers. “That was so much fun!” she said. It was pretty darn AMAZING!
LL Cool J said that she had some “up all night at the club moves.” After his comment, the show headed to another commercial break.
Back from the break, LL Cool J showed a clip of Michael Strahan at “Lip Sync Battle Training Camp.” He said “Hoda, I have to take you out, Hoda — I have to take you out!”

Strahan then lip synced to Poison by Bell Biv DeVoe. He may have snagged victory from the jaws of defeat, by bringing out the real Bell Biv DeVoe to perform with him. Michael, it turns out, is a big fan of the group and has gone to their concerts before.
Hoda said that she loved it, adding “Bell Biv DeVoe was right here!”
After Lip Sync Battle returned from another commercial break, the time had arrived for the winner of the Lip Sync Battle show to be announced.
“Is the winner Michael Strahan?” LL Cool J asked. “Or, is the winner Hoda Kotb?” Hoda got the most sustained applause. “The winner of the Lip Sync Battle and the Championship Belt is…Hoda Kotb!” LL Cool J said.
On Lip Sync Battle tonight on Spike TV, the competition between the two talk show hosts, Hoda Kotb and Michael Strahan, was intense. For a while, it seemed as if they were neck-and-neck, each giving amazing lip sync performances. At the conclusion of the episode, though, the audience determined that the winner was Hoda Kotb.
