Heroin Sting in Bronx Reveals to Be One of the Biggest in U.S. History

Law enforcement officials engaged in a sting operation at a building which was suspected of being part of a heroin ring in the Bronx. The apartment building is located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx borough. An official account of the events that transpired during and after the sting will be announced on Tuesday afternoon in a press conference with New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan.

The heroin bust is now said to be the biggest in the history of New York’s Drug Enforcement Administration and the fourth largest ever found in the United States. Authorities recovered of over $2 million in cash and 70 kilograms of heroin in the apartment. This made this incident to be the biggest drug sting in the U.S recent years. One firearm was also found in the apartment during the recovery. It is unclear how many people were apprehended during the operation.

Information regarding the identification of those taken into custody have been released as of now. Further investigative information will be announced by Brennan during the conference to issue a more in-depth account.

@Nanette…I was just thinking the same…Either the editors opted not to do their due diligence by confirming the source of the photo, or something a little more nefarious….a deliberate attempt to save face for Riverdale and project this crime onto another neighborhood. Either way….that photo is NOT Riverdale where the criminal activity occurred.

Sorry, but that photo is absolutely nowhere near where this drug bust took place.
