Three people were injured, including a nine-year-old girl, when a car slammed through one of the terminals at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Sunday evening. All three people injured during the incident have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. There are no other confirmed injuries from the incident.
Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel were called to LAX’s Terminal 7 after they were altered about a report of a vehicle crashing into the crowded building just before 5:00 p.m. PST. Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department, stated two of the injured, a driver and a passenger, were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The nine-year-old girl is currently list in serious condition.
According to eyewitnesses, the car crashed through the front entrance of Terminal 7, partially stopping inside a utility room above a stairwell.
An investigation is underway with LAX security to determine the cause of the accident. Information regarding the injuries sustained by the three people has not been released.
