Boldly inclusive is the company motto of the Guardian Liberty Voice publication. However, it is so much more than just a motto. It is also a philosophy–for the company and life. It is a goal to strive for and achieve. Moreover, boldly inclusive is also equal parts a journey and destination. It involves recognizing and respecting all points of view as well as giving voice to those differing perspectives. As part of my quest for the boldly inclusive, here is my Guardian Liberty Voice confessional.
My journey with Guardian Liberty Voice (GLV) began nearly two years ago when I joined the online publication in February 2014. I was drawn to GLV, in large part, due to its boldly inclusive motto. I immediately responded to it and felt a kinship with it. I recognized it as a goal I aspired to achieve throughout my life but had not yet acknowledged in such concise terms.
My kinship with GLV was further bolstered by our publisher, DiMarcko Chandler, who took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. While I had a writing background as well as many other life and prior to coming to GLV, DiMarcko saw my true potential and entrusted me with various responsibilities in terms of the day-to-day operations of the publication. He recognized that I was not only an intelligent and capable individual but also a loyal and valued co-worker. Moreover, he also values me for who I am as a person as well as an employee. Unfortunately, in this day and age, that is increasingly rare to find and when you do find it, it is worth fighting for it. DiMarcko and the GLV have played pivotal roles in my quest for a boldly inclusive life.
As part of my Guardian Liberty Voice confessional, it is important that I concede my GLV experience has not been without its share of trials and tribulations. I have encountered some mean-spirited, duplicitous, and egomaniacal individuals whose machinations have tried to sabotage my efforts at GLV. Moreover, they have attempted to use me as a scapegoat for errors made by others. Despite their best efforts, the truth won out, their efforts failed, and I am still here, which is more than I can say for any of them.
It is remarkable and sad what lengths some people will go to when they are threatened by or envious of other people’s talent and/or success. It provides you with a unique insight into the human soul, jealousy, and the amount of desperation involved in such backstabbing actions. However, it is all part of the journey involved in a boldly inclusive life. Yet, I never doubted that the truth would win out and my efforts would be rewarded.
This is because I stick to my life and work philosophy. I keep my head down and do my work. I am the antithesis of a gossip and do not delight in backbiting or derailing others’ efforts. I speak my mind and am not afraid to challenge things that I disagree with or find unsavory. I am always inquisitive and enjoy learning more every day. Moreover, I enjoy hearing other viewpoints and respect differing opinions. Most importantly, I believe in the power of comeuppance and know that karma will get you in the end. When given the option of pay-it-forward or sabotage, always pay-it-forward and collect the good karma. Sabotaging others will get you nowhere fast, bring you nothing but pain, and always come back to haunt you in the end. As the adage goes, “karma is a bi#$h” and comeuppance is its just desserts.
While boldly inclusive is the company motto of the Guardian Liberty Voice online publication, it is so much more than just a motto. It is also a goal to strive for and achieve. Moreover, boldly inclusive is also equal parts a journey and destination. Furthermore, boldly inclusive is also a philosophy, not only for the company but life itself. It involves recognizing and respecting all points of view as well as giving voice to those differing perspectives. As part of my quest for a boldly inclusive life, this has been my Guardian Liberty Voice confessional.
