It’s here! The Coachella 2019 lineup was just announced!
The 2019 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year’s headliners are Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala.
Originally Kanye West was scheduled to headline however he declined. 41-year-old West refused to perform on standard 60×40-foot stage which is a traditional stage size because he felt it would limit him artistically. After performing in 2016 during his Saint Pablo Tour with a floating stage, the West wanted a stage as elaborate.
The producers for the festival Goldenvoice stated they would not permit the stage that nobody else had an issue with be removed, altered or changed just for West’s performance, as it would compromise the other performers and disrupt the festival so he dropped out.
Some of the other artists performing at Coachella 2019 are Janelle Monae, Kid Cudi, Zedd, Khalid, Aphex Twins, the 1975, Blood Orange, Pusha-T, Weezer, Solange Diplo, Kacey Musgraves, Yves Tumor, Rosalía, JPEGMAFIA, 070 Shake, Tierra Whack,
J Balvin,Let’s Eat Grandma, Bad Bunny, Sheck Wes, Gesaffelstein, SOPHIE, Mac DeMarco, Idris Elba, Jon Hopkins, Kaytranada, Anderson .Paak, Juice WRLD, and Playboi Carti
The sister of Beyoncé, Solange will be performing. Solange was at Coachella as a guest in 2018 when her sister was performing. Weezer is having a career revival with a recent cover of ‘Africa’ originally performed in 1982 by Toto.
YouTube will present the concert on the website both days. Covering the festival is a first for YouTube.
