Jed Allan Actor From ‘Days of Our Lives’ and ‘Santa Barbara’ Dead at 84

Jed Allan a soap opera veteran who was known for his roles on “Santa Barbara” and “Days of Our Lives” died on March 9, 2019. He was 84 years old.

Allan’s son Rick Brown wrote on Facebook that he was sorry to let everybody know that his father died peacefully surrounded by his family.

Allan started his career in the 60s on television soap operas on CBC “The Secret Storm” and “Love of Life.”  In 1971 he joined the cast of “Days of Our Lives” portraying for 14 years Don Craig.

In 1986, Allan joined the new soap opera “Santa Barbara” in the role which would become his signature; CC Capwell. He stayed with the soap until it ended in 1993.

After that, the actor joined the cast of “Beverly Hills, 90210” as Rush Sanders, the father of Steve played by Ian Ziering.

In 2004, the actor joined “General Hospital” in a temporary role as Edward Quartermaine. He also appeared in the soap “Port Charles.”

A Martinez posted a video from “Santa Barbara” on his Facebook Page. Martinez played Cruz Castillo, Allan’s son-in-law. Under it, on March 10 he wrote Allen walked out of the building today. He played CC Capwell, Eden’s father, and was an inspiration, professional, kind, funny, fierce and generous.

Allan was married Toby Brown on Sept. 21, 1958, until she died in 2001. The pair had three sons Rick, Dean, and Mitch.
