Van Der Zee

Lotte van der Zee, a Dutch model, and former Miss Teen Universe died on March 6, 2019, in Australia from a heart attack while on vacation. The model died one day before her 20th birthday.

Van der Zee was with her family in Westendorf, Austria for a ski birthday trip. Her parents spoke with the Dutch newspaper De Limburger saying she went out for the evening with friends and when she returned, she was healthy and nothing appeared wrong.

When their daughter did not come down for breakfast, the family went to check on her. Van der Zee appeared ill. The family wrote on the model’s Instagram that she suddenly went into cardiac arrest and was mother performed CPR.

Van der Zee was transferred to a local hospital and was placed in a medically induced coma. Later she was transported to another hospital in Germany. While there, her organs failed.

Her family announced the death on Instagram saying that Lottie died on March 6 at 22:47 CET. They could not believe that Lotte was no longer there, and their hearts were broken. The family thanked everybody for their thoughts and prayers.

Van der Zee, who was from the Netherlands and in 2017 won Miss Teen Universe. Her parents said tests are being run to determine the cause of the heart attack.
