Cortney Hendrix and Jason Carrion from Season 1 of “Married at First Sight” have filed for divorce after almost five years of marriage.
Hendrix posted on her Instagram on March 28, 2019, admitting that the “Married at First Sight” stars filed for divorce in February 2019. She also said they had been separated for six months and it was acknowledged by the Kings County court of New York.
The post continued by saying the two were asked for privacy during this time because they were trying to decide what to do. They thought that they would divorce, and start dating to fresh and begin the relationship the correct way. After much thought, the “Married at First Sight” stars decided it was time for them to move onto their different paths.
She stressed that it did not mean that they do not love each other, and Carrion would always have a special place in her life and heart.
Hendrix said in the message that they both loved everybody and thanked the viewers for all the support shown to them since the time they met at “Married at First Sight.”
A few hours before the divorce announcement, Hendrix posted on her Instagram Stories a quote about love lost. She said “you cannot say that you love a person if the only time you love them is when it is right for you. Love is not something that can be scheduled. Love does not wait until you are on a break. You can not love a person when it is convenient. Unconditional and real love is going through together good & bad.
Hendrix, a makeup artist, met Carrion a New York firefighter on Season 1 of “Married at First Sight” in 2014. The couple also appeared on “Married at First Sight: The First Year” which followed the newly married couples as they started their new life together.
