On the fifth season of the hit television show “I Am Jazz,” the show’s star, Jazz Jennings introduced viewers to her first boyfriend, Ahmir Steward.
In an interview with RadarOnline, 19-year-old Steward said the TLC reality series show portrayed him as a dull and quiet, but he is not like that at all.
Jenning’s boyfriend is an LGBT activist who self identifies as being “non-binary,” meaning he does not identify himself as being a male or female.
Steward says he did not plan on falling in love with Jennings, with and the relationship was always real, and not for the cameras.
However, after the TLC show introduced Steward, internet trolls began to leave negative comments on his Instagram. He said that he would see the comments people wrote about him such as he is really creepy and weird. He continued by saying when he first saw the comments, and it deeply affected him.
He continued by saying that the show portrayed him in a certain way and the fans would see it as they wanted and come online and attack. The show only showed one aspect of him, and viewers could not get to know all aspects.
He explained that people could not get to know a person from a reality show. One only sees an edited version to fit into the episode the person is in.
Steward said several months after “I Am Jazz” completed its season, his depression worsened, and he became suicidal. He admitted to being hospitalized due to mental health issues, due to the suicidal ideations.
Currently enrolled in college and working towards earning a degree in social sciences and liberal arts, he says it is difficult being in Jennings’ reality show and keeping a school schedule. He admits he attends therapy and writes in journals which helps.
Steward praised his girlfriend saying Jennings changed his life and without her, he would not be in school. He continued saying Jennings motivates him and tells him he can do anything he wants.
There have been many rumors reporting Steward and Jennings broke up recently. Steward refused to comment on his relationship because he wanted to keep their personal lives personal, and to protect Jennings.

Leave Ahmir Steward alone, he seems like a decent young man and is entitled to respect. I know that word can confuse most of you but try it anyway. I believe in “All lives matter” not just blacks!

15 years out, Swedish long term studies show transgenders have 19.5X greater chance of suicide; 2.8 times as likely to be hospitalized for mental illness (even after discounting for pre change rates mental illness ) and 10 years later they are over twice as likely to die from cardio vascular or neoplasm illness. This is in Sweden where transgenderism and homosexuality have long been accepted. I’m guessing Jazz’s parents made a lot of money off of the show. Now that it’s over, I hope they will be there to pick up any pieces – physical or mental – that result from doing/authorizing this on Jazz’s body from a very young age.
