John Singleton Remains in Coma as Family Fights Over His Estate

John Singleton, the famed “Boyz n The Hood” director, remains in a coma following a stroke. While he is incapacitated, his mother and family are fighting over his estate.

TMZ was informed by sources that Singleton‘s mother Shelia Ward, in arguing with Cleopatra who is Singleton’s daughter, his father with whom he is estranged, and his girlfriend.

Last week, Cleopatra filed paperwork to block Shelia from becoming Singleton’s conservator. She alleged her grandmother was planning to liquidate her father’s assets and prevent his four children from getting any money.

Cleopatra also alleged Singleton was not in a coma, and his health was improving daily.

The source says Cleopatra filed the paperwork because she is fearful that she will not have access to her father’s estate worth over $35 million. She is also concerned when she will be given the money. It is alleged Cleopatra thinks he grandmother will prevent her and the family from getting money from her father.

Sources tell TMZ, Singleton remains in a medically induced coma and it is hopeful he will recover some day.

Shelia Ward has been the business manager of her son for a very long time, and she filed for conservatorship based on this fact.

TMZ reported their sources informed them that Shelia denies she will prevent Singleton’s children from obtaining any money from his estate.
