Madonna
Recently, it was announced that Madonna would be performing two songs at the finale of the 2019 Eurovision contest which will be taking place in Tel Aviv in May.

Americans will not be able to see Madonna perform. No U.S. television carriers have chosen to air the show despite Madonna performing.

In 2018, the Logo channel owned by Viacom aired the finals. The show brought in 74,000 viewers. Almost 200 million viewers around the world watched the competition.

Stations in the United States, do not think that Madonna performing would bring in enough viewers to make it worthwhile to air the show she is performing in.

Last year, Netta Barzilai from Israel won the contest, which gave her country to be the host of Eurovision this year.

After Madonna’s performance was confirmed, supporters of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions asked Madonna not to perform because they were protesting due to human rights violations inflicted by Israel against the Palestinian people.

Artists from the UK, including Peter Gabriel, wrote an open letter to The Guardian asking for people to boycott Eurovision.

It has been reported that Madonna will be paid $1 Millon for her performance of two songs, one new and one of her classics. She is also reportedly bringing with her an entourage of 160 people.
