On March 31, 2019, Samiel Asghedom was at his grandmother’s house, when he received a panicked phone call telling him that his brother Nip, who the world knows as Nipsey Hussle had been shot.
Asghedom got into a car, ignoring red lights and drove straight to Hussle’s clothing store Marathon Clothing in South Los Angeles.
He arrived minutes after Hussle was shot multiple times. Paramedics were called, but have not come on the scene as of yet.
Hussle’s shirt was covered with blood from where the bullets entered his chest. There were also bullet hole marks in his leg. Despite being shot multiple times, Hussle was still breathing.
Asghedom spoke with the Times on April 3, 2019, about Hussle’s final moments.
Police say Ermias Asghedom, otherwise known as Nipsey Hussle was shot by aspiring rapper 29-year-old Eric Holder. The attack was captured on security camera video.
Holder was known in South L.A. In his social media photos; he is wearing a blue bandanna which is associated with the Crips. Recently, he had disappeared, and nobody knew his whereabouts.
Asghedom tried to quiet the crowd who came to see what happened. Hussle was on his back, with his head tilted to one side. 911 was called and gave him instructions. He started to perform chest compressions to keep him breathing.
The ambulance arrived, and EMS inserted a tube in Hussle’s throat and started an IV before putting him onto a stretcher.
When Hussle was lifted, he Asghedom noticed the gunshot wound in the back of Hussle’s head, and he immediately started to pray.
Hussle used to hire people for his store who were felons. He wanted to help them as they often had a difficult time finding employment due to their criminal record. It was also against the law for a convicted felon to carry a gun legally.
Asghedom said that “Because nobody had a gun, the man could shoot Hussle and run. He then realized nobody had a gun. He could walk up and shoot two more times and run again.
Realizing nobody was responding he was able to run back up and shoot him three more times in the head and kick him in the head before running off.” He added, if he were there he would have shot back, and he wished he was there.
Hussle got to the hospital in the ambulance before Asghedom arriving. When there, the doctor appeared to avoid him.
Asghedom went to the ambulance and walked up to a paramedic. The paramedic said “I know who this is. I am a huge fan, and I respect what he has been doing for our community. We did try our hardest.”

Ermias Asgedom was an Ertrean descent. we don’t exactly know what he did to his community, but we know that, thank’s to him our country’s name was known in UAS and all over the world. He visited our country twice, one recently in 2018 and every one was so welcoming to the legend Rapper who was looking for change to the best and we were so proud of him and expected a lot from him. Every one here is so touched by this tragedy and felt saddened. It was God’s plan, so there is nothing to be done, but he was almost there to being the star of the world and that would have given us a lot of hope. We all know Hero’s don’t live long enough to serve their aims, becouse God also chooses them but they will always be remembered! We want to let the world and those who convicted this sinful crime to know that he meant so much to Eritrean Youngsters and he will always be! May his soul rest amongest the blessed once! Amen!
