Taylor Swift’s “Me!” Makes History and Breaks YouTube Records [Video]

Taylor Swift released her new video for “ME!” featuring Brendon Urie from Panic! at the Disco. In a little over 24 hours, Swift’s song has made history.

YouTube has officially stated that Grammy-Award Winner Swift has broken the record for the most plays by a solo artist (female or male, and another artist could be featured) of a new video within 24 hours of release.Swift

YouTube which is owned by Google, has stated that “ME!” earned within the first day of release 65.2 million views. Previously, Ariana Grande held the title for her song “Thank U, Next.” Grande’s video when it premiered in 2018, received 55.4 million plays.

Swift has beaten with “ME!” her own debut record. When the pop star released her award-winning song “Look What You Made Me Do” in 2017 form her “Reputation” album, the video earned 43.2 million plays.

A little less than two years, she increased her views for “ME!” by over 22 million.

“ME!” has 65 million plays and an unknown amount of purchases and streams (numbers have not been released yet), it is almost guaranteed “ME!” will be placed in the top 10 of the Hot 100’s. YouTube plays are a factor in the ranking on that particular chart.

“ME!” is the debut single from Swift’s seventh studio album. A release date and name has yet to be made public.
