Madonna’s Second Single ‘I Rise’ Flops on iTunes Faster Than ‘Medellin’

MadonnaMadonna‘s first single, “Medellin” off of her upcoming album set to drop on June 14 “Madame X” fell quickly on the iTunes charts, was not picked up by the BBC, or mainstream Billboard charts.

There were high hopes that “Medellin” which was Madonna’s first single coming after the worst selling album of her career, would put the back on top of the charts. Unfortunately, the first single did not do what was expected.

After the failure of the first single, fans on the Madonna-Infinity message board had high hopes the second single would propel the singer to number 1.

The second single “I Rise” sampled Parkland Shooting Survivor and activist Emma González. The activist’s Twitter which is dedicated exclusively for gun violence-related issues was spammed viciously with Madonna memes by Madonna fans who did not care about González feelings after the single’s release.

González removed all Madonna meme’s from her Twitter.

“I Rise” has nothing to do with gun violence and Madonna stated the song was supporting LGBT issues.

“I Rise” was released on May 3, 2019, and quite possibly will completely off the charts by May 7. It opened lower than “Medellin,” and never hit number 1 on iTunes.

The video for “I Rise” received a little over 300,000 views in 24 hours, far from the millions which is expected and what Madonna received in the past.

MadonnaMadonna Says There Is Nobody Like Her and She Never Feuded With Gaga fans will continue to support their favorite artist no matter what. Mainstream listeners are not. Madonna and her people are probably frowning at the results of her second single.

With the horrible results of the first two singles from Madonna, one wonders if “Madame X” will break her record of being the Material Girl’s worst selling album.

Here are the iTunes Charts of “Medellin” and “I Rise.”
